One of the fundamental principles behind the mission of Susan G. Komen®, since its inception in 1982, has been to promote and increase breast cancer awareness, through research and education about the disease and treatment. The mission was established on the initial promise made between two sisters, to end breast cancer forever and save lives in the process.

Komen is proud to acknowledge the successful efforts of Representative Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Representative Pete Sessions(R-TX) to reintroduce the Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coin Act. The bill authorizes the creation of three new limited-edition coins to help support the funding of breast cancer research. If approved, the proceeds from the sale of the coins will be distributed evenly between Susan G. Komen and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The prices for the commemorative coins are as follows:

Gold- $5.00
Silver- $1.00
Half Dollar- $1.00
